A workspace taking shape

Clearer collaboration with every update.

Changes already delivered, with the current version's scope made clear.

· Windows 0.1.31

Confirm your current version when checking for updates

When Windows 0.1.31 checks for updates and confirms it is up to date, the message includes Rivloom’s full current version number so you can verify the version you are using.

This update is for Windows x64. Linux x64 remains on 0.1.30. See the download page for packages, source builds and SHA-256 checksums.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.30

More reliable conversation stops and device collaboration

Version 0.1.30 fixes the transition from stopping a conversation to its next message. When a stop occurs during a query or material preparation, execution records can finish correctly and the next round can continue after a safe end. An execution whose stop remains unconfirmed continues to wait and is not forced to rerun.

Cross-device delivery is more reliable. A late rejection of an older queued delivery no longer clears a newer assignment. Cancelled, declined or expired requests no longer keep occupying pending capacity, while history and protection against duplicate requests remain available.

The Windows desktop fixes navigation when opening a single workflow notification. Advanced model access keeps a newly entered API key after a failed credential save so it can be retried, and clears the field after the save succeeds.

Fixes project change review with Git for Windows 2.56.0 while continuing to isolate user-wide Git configuration and repository hooks.

The custom runtime for Windows x64 and Linux x64 is pinned to OpenCode 1.18.33, with network and update-maintenance improvements. Check the download page for packages, source builds and verification details. Linux remains a headless execution node, and ARM64 is not yet released.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.29

More focus on conversations and results

Version 0.1.29 simplifies the composer and execution information. Reasoning levels use a compact menu, device identity has its own edit control, and local model rates beside Model connections use arrows and values. Successful tasks open the result first, with icon actions for copying and quoting; planning and execution details remain available on demand.

Request a stop from the composer during execution, then continue with new instructions once it is confirmed. Message continuation after failure or stopping has also improved. An unconfirmed remote stop remains pending; an unknown state is not treated as a confirmed stop.

Windows x64 and Linux x64 are released together. Linux includes device selection, result parsing, message continuation and stop completion fixes. The graphical interface belongs to the Windows desktop; ARM64 is not released. Homepage images use synthetic demo content in this version’s interface.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.28

See local rates beside Model connections

Model activity now sits on the same row to the right of Model connections, with separate controls for settings and activity details. The control remains visible when idle, waiting for samples or temporarily unavailable; unknown values display —. Narrow sidebars prioritize output rates, with input and full status in the details.

This fixes a startup issue that could miss the first streamed content. Output estimates text and reasoning increments actually received over the last 3 seconds. When a short reply ends, samples remain until their original window expires while the generating count returns to zero. Input still averages newly confirmed usage over the last 60 seconds.

Statistics cover local execution and received delegations, excluding tasks running on other devices. Historical content is not counted as live output. Old output samples are discarded after a disconnection and reconnection; missing or incomplete data remains unknown. Monitoring makes no extra model calls and provides no billing or quota information.

The graphical activity panel belongs to the Windows desktop. Linux x64 remains a headless execution node and includes the same streaming sample fixes. Check the download page for each platform's packages and verification details. ARM64 is not yet released.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.27

More conversations in the same sidebar

Conversation history uses a compact graphite list, with 30px desktop rows and 14px titles by default. Conversations are grouped by project, with important states and update times on the right. Full-title tooltips appear only for truncated titles, reducing repeated information.

More actions appear on hover or keyboard focus without shifting the title. Search hit navigation, drafts, pins, collapsible groups, attention-item navigation and recycle-bin safeguards remain available. The sidebar starts at 340px and retains existing width preferences.

Touch rows are at least 44px tall, with More kept visible. Focus returns correctly when menus close, and the history drawer on narrow screens supports Tab cycling and Esc to close. These interface changes apply to the Windows desktop; Linux x64 remains a headless execution node. See the download page for actual packages and verification details. ARM64 is not yet released.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.26

Reduce repeated file copying during updates

Windows in-app update backups no longer copy cache and temp directories at the roots of the shared engine and each account's engine. Identically named directories elsewhere are retained. Conversations, accounts, settings, attachments and resource data are still backed up.

Each engine's bundled plugin dependencies are checked against the complete file paths, lengths, SHA-256 hashes and exact version declarations. Only a full match allows node_modules and generated markers to be omitted, since they can be rebuilt offline from the installer. Custom, modified, legacy, missing or unverifiable files cause that engine's dependencies and markers to be retained together.

Adding a dependency inventory to an existing installation preserves user files. Failure to generate this auxiliary inventory does not block engine startup. Safe shutdown, backup integrity checks and old-backup cleanup after successful startup remain unchanged. This release does not delete current application data or provide automatic restoration or rollback between versions.

When upgrading from an older version to 0.1.26, the older version still performs the backup. The optimization takes effect for later in-app updates after 0.1.26 is installed. Linux x64 includes the same plugin dependency inventory preparation and continues to use manual upgrades, without the desktop update backup flow. Check the download page for actual packages and verification details. ARM64 is not yet released.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.25

Fixes for connection settings, file previews and activity feedback

This release focuses on fixes to existing features. Model connection and advanced settings restore editing after a task ends, and late refresh responses cannot overwrite newer state. Unavailable models remain selected, and tests require fresh confirmation when the model or its availability changes.

Saving a connection, changing the default and refreshing afterward report their results separately. Confirmed saves and default selections appear promptly, while later read failures remain visible. Partial success is not presented as complete success.

Search highlighting now handles special Unicode characters correctly and counts Markdown code-block matches once. Stale callbacks no longer cause errors after switching to editing or closing a preview. PDF and full Word layout previews no longer show ineffective text-pagination buttons. Quoting while editing, unsaved changes and retry controls after read failures receive the appropriate safeguards.

Dismissing an old knowledge failure notice no longer dismisses a later failure. Valid usage received within the retention window can complete statistics for finished tasks; replayed old events cannot bring expired executions back into view.

This release keeps the pinned core. Graphical settings and preview fixes apply to the Windows desktop. Check the download page for actual Windows x64 and Linux x64 packages, versions and verification details. ARM64 is not yet released; validate model task capabilities in your own environment.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.24

See ongoing work in the sidebar

New model activity monitoring summarizes conversations and received delegations executed on this Node, with details by model connection. Input shows average newly confirmed usage over 60 seconds; output estimates generation increments over 3 seconds. Unknown, stale or incomplete totals are hidden while valid connection details remain available. A failed task does not hide valid rates from other tasks.

Knowledge shows real catalog refreshes, reads, saves and organization, distinguishing completion, partial failure and failure. Project files shows read and save feedback. Activity remains visible across pages, Inbox signals only new items that increase its count, and Devices uses valid status information. The sidebar is more compact and its motion respects reduced-motion settings.

Model connection settings and the monitor remain separate. Monitoring makes no extra model calls and is not a billing or quota view. Knowledge sharing still uses on-demand reads, not full synchronization between devices. The graphical activity panel is part of the Windows desktop; consult the download page for available builds, packages and checksums on each platform.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.23

Connect your own models and preview office documents

The Windows desktop adds model connection settings that are available at any time, with the same interface for initial setup and later changes. Save multiple named endpoints, credentials and model parameters, then choose a connection for your public or internal network. Existing tasks and drafts keep their own model selections.

New local previews for PDF, Word (DOCX) and Excel (XLSX) support PDF page navigation and zoom, switching sheets, quoting file content and browsing project files. Preview components come with the package. Small TXT and Markdown files support simple editing, save-conflict checks and saving results as new copies.

Opening a conversation from pending items locates and highlights it in the sidebar. Back to inbox restores the category and scroll position. The sidebar, settings, workflow graph, file previews and dialogs have clearer hierarchy, narrow-window layouts, keyboard focus, and loading, error and save feedback.

Office previews do not replace native editors: scans have no OCR, Word layouts may differ, and spreadsheets show saved formula results only. Configure your own model services and task tools, and validate internal models with real business tasks for multi-step execution and long documents. Public update checks continue as before.

This version targets the Windows x64 desktop and Linux x64 worker. Graphical previews and settings belong to the Windows desktop. Check the download page for each platform’s actual release status, packages and verification details. ARM64 is not yet released.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.22

A clearer workspace and smoother sidebar interactions

0.1.22 gives chat, the sidebar and the queue clearer visual separation, with updated message bubbles, execution panels, the composer and send button. Bottom navigation uses icons with name hints while preserving keyboard access and pending-item counts.

The queue and devices panel starts collapsed when idle and opens automatically for unfinished execution items. Manual choices take priority, and a count remains visible when collapsed. Common actions have consistent motion that respects the system's reduced-motion preference.

The recycle bin no longer stays highlighted after opening More; arrow-key navigation and Esc still work. The current version sits beside the Rivloom logo at the bottom left, with a separate About icon on the right that keeps its size when the sidebar is resized. The Back to latest button stays centered when pressed.

Attachments, quote cards, queued messages and execution authorization keep their existing behavior. The Windows desktop and Linux x64 worker retain the pinned core; ARM64 remains deferred. Check the download page for available builds, packages and verification details.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.21

Clearer input, easier everyday actions

0.1.21 improves the desktop workspace, chat and settings. Separate attachment and @ device icons sit on the upper-left and upper-right edges of the composer, showing counts and device names when needed.

Drag files into the chat to attach them. File cards show upload progress, retry, preview and removal controls. Quotes are separate, removable cards saved alongside your text, and remain editable if sending fails.

Settings are organized into models, execution and folders, devices, and connection diagnostics, with save feedback and diagnostic links. Chat spacing, message actions and supporting records are more compact. New requests sent during execution still queue in order; this release does not support inserting them immediately into the active workflow.

Windows and Linux x64 keep the pinned Runtime. ARM64 remains deferred. Check the download page for available platform builds, packages and verification details.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.20

Understand the context and keep confirmed knowledge for your project

0.1.20 connects conversation context, project memory and Wiki. The new Conversation context view shows goals, original sources and versions, and lets you confirm, revise or withdraw constraints and decisions while preserving their history.

Confirmed entries can be manually saved as project memory, replaced or withdrawn. Wiki and Skill content is read as needed in version-pinned, 32 KiB pages, with ongoing checks of project scope, sharing authorization and source availability. The entire library is not automatically added to model context.

Adds history and knowledge read records, plus local rule preparation and compaction recovery records. Fixes follow-ups and continuation after interruption in ordinary local conversations, keeping the original session after confirming the old execution has stopped. Workflow conversations retain their existing message queue.

Improves handling of slower system queries when stopping the Windows engine, while retaining the overall time limit and process ownership checks. A failure is still reported if exit cannot be confirmed.

Improves handling of slower system queries when stopping the Windows engine, while retaining the overall time limit and process ownership checks. A failure is still reported if exit cannot be confirmed.

Permanent deletion from the recycle bin now cleans up clearly associated local engine history. Shared sessions or sessions that cannot yet be cleaned up retain their status and can be retried. Deleting a conversation preserves project originals, remote copies and independent project memories.

Read records do not prove model understanding, and rule records are not a complete input audit. Check answers after compaction. Full computer restarts, power loss and crashes during compaction are outside this version's verified coverage. Check the download page for available platform builds, packages and verification details.

· Windows / Linux 0.1.19

Context with sources across follow-ups and node handoffs

0.1.19 is available for the Windows x64 desktop app and Linux x64 command-line worker. Check the download page for each platform's builds, packages and verification details.

Conversations retain goals, constraints, decisions and progress with source versions. Follow-ups and node handoffs search history and read original text as needed, in pages of up to 32 KiB. Supporting nodes no longer attach accumulated conversation history by default. Model inferences stay separate from user confirmations and cannot grant new authorization.

Execution shows reasoning and tool activity provided by the model, and restores the current workflow and permission rules after compaction. The response action now reads Quote in composer; quoted content stays in your draft and is not sent automatically.

Waiting and deferred local tasks can be cancelled. Failed tasks leave the queue after the engine is confirmed stopped, with history retained. New installations no longer implicitly select an OpenCode Zen free model; connected accounts remain available. This version improves execution connections when discovery is degraded and the transfer of larger Chinese history pages.

The Windows x64 and Linux x64 source for this version uses OpenCode 1.18.31-rivloom.9b07cf442a7e built from Rivloom's pinned source, with the core fixed at 9b07cf4. Packages include runtime components. ARM64 is not being released yet, and Windows publisher signing is not configured.

32 KiB is the budget for one history read, not a model context or input limit. Compaction with real models and multi-device restarts during execution still need dedicated acceptance checks. Dedicated context editing, further integration of long-term memory and Wiki, and complete storage maintenance are outside this release.

· Windows 0.1.18

System tray operation and LAN connection repair

Keep Rivloom running in the tray after closing its window, remember the first notice, and quit directly from the tray menu. New LAN checks, communication rules for the current installation and automatic retesting improve discovery and connections on Windows Server public networks.

Task panels now explain waiting reasons, device conditions and queue receipts, with a diagnostic summary. This release continues to use official OpenCode 1.18.25. The full installer includes the runtime and preserves existing pairing and model accounts.

· Windows 0.1.17

Multiple accounts, clearer groups and sharper text

Use multiple named accounts for one provider, each with its own API key or OAuth connection, and choose models by provider and account. Groups support collapsing and search. Account setup no longer has a quota acknowledgment checkbox, and larger conversation and input controls use clearer system fonts.

This release supports Windows x64 and preserves existing accounts, node identities and sessions. Providers determine account access; plan quota is not pooled and accounts do not rotate automatically. Users on 0.1.16 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.16

Clearer model selection and account connections

Choose models with provider groups, search, context sizes and image capability badges. Model access has permanent Account sign-in, API Key and Custom service entries, with provider search, adding multiple services and switching between them to edit. The interface supports Chinese, English and narrow windows.

This release continues to support Windows x64. Sign-in methods and available models depend on the official engine and your account permissions. Saving a connection does not automatically call a model. Users on 0.1.15 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.15

Reuse Skills through a Brain and load memories as needed

The desktop source is now open under Apache-2.0. Explore the implementation and report issues. Browse desktop source

The new Skills and memory view lets you register local Skills, manage their sharing scope and search content shared through a Brain. Read a description first, then fetch instructions and supporting files as needed. Each task pins its version; a new task gets the latest version.

Wiki supports nested categories, project scope, edit history and manual sharing, with separate local and working-folder instructions. Organization builds an index and marks exact duplicates without extra model usage or independent background AI rewriting.

Content is private by default. Shared sources must remain online and authorized, and participating Nodes and Brains need to upgrade. Bundled license notices and release checks have also been improved. Users on 0.1.14 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.14

Search conversation history and connect your choice of models

Conversation search covers historical requests, answers, earlier step attempts and pending messages, with excerpts and match navigation. Model access supports provider API Keys, OAuth methods offered by the official engine, and custom Providers with Chat Completions / Responses, multiple models and keyless services.

Edit or remove custom connections, select configured models in conversations, and confirm connection tests when needed. Account authorization and model calls depend on the selected provider; tests may be billed. Users on 0.1.13 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.13

Retry steps and fetch results when needed

The composer now has a message box and one toolbar. Responses, deliverable files and execution details appear separately, with tighter message and round spacing. Completed portions remain visible after failure. Retry an individual failed step while keeping earlier records and successful steps.

Remote files stay on their source device initially, with file details shown in the conversation. Fetch local copies when needed; materials required by later steps are prepared automatically. On-demand results and remote retries require both devices to update; older nodes retain their existing behavior. Users on 0.1.12 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.12

Continue conversations, keep drafts and preview attachments

Workflow conversations now queue follow-up messages. Submit further requests while work is running; they continue in order after the current round, with prior requirements, answers, results and files retained. Pause or resume the queue, cancel pending messages, and answer model questions in the current round.

New reading and input features include Markdown tables, syntax highlighting and code-block copying; unsent drafts, folder and device choices, and completed uploads survive switching and restarts. Paste screenshots, drag in files, and preview images, text, audio and video. Users on 0.1.11 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.11

Cleaner messages and clearer text selection

User messages no longer have a separate You / Copy header. Messages, task results and tool output use a small copy icon that appears on hover and hides when you move away, while keeping keyboard access, touch controls and success or failure feedback.

Message bodies explicitly allow text selection, with a stronger highlight for selecting text and copying it with Ctrl+C. The copy icon preserves the full content, including blank lines, line breaks and indentation. Right-click menus, conversation names and pins, the recycle bin and upgrade backup cleanup remain available. Users on 0.1.10 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.10

Common actions are a right-click away

Directory right-click menus offer aliases, full-path copying and opening the local folder. Conversation menus let you rename, pin or unpin, and move to the recycle bin. Names and pins survive restarts, and pinned conversations appear first within their directory.

File right-click menus support opening with the default app, opening the containing folder, save as and copying the local path. All three menus support More buttons, keyboard and touch input. Deletion confirmation, active-task protection and backup cleanup after successful upgrades remain in place. Users on 0.1.9 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.9

Upgrade backups clean up after a successful launch

After a successful launch into the updated workspace, all obsolete upgrade backups and interrupted copies are removed automatically. Backups are retained if the upgrade or startup fails, and cleanup retries when files are in use. Cleanup applies only to application upgrade backups and preserves current data and user projects.

Conversation delete buttons now appear on hover, with keyboard and touch access preserved. Active-task protection and deletion confirmation remain in place. Users on 0.1.8 can check for updates in About Rivloom.

· Windows 0.1.8

Name your directories, with clearer conversation hierarchy

Working directories support custom aliases and show short folder names by default. Full paths remain available to view, and search accepts both aliases and paths. Aliases are saved locally and leave the actual directories unchanged.

Conversations are indented beneath their directories, and the overall history heading and total count are removed. The local device icon and online status area are smaller and sit higher. The app window title is now Rivloom.

Users on 0.1.7 can check for updates in About Rivloom and install 0.1.8, using the automatic installation handoff and backup progress.

· Windows 0.1.7

Installation continues automatically, with clearer backup progress

Fixed the update handoff that could require closing the update dialog manually after downloading. Installation now closes the update and About dialogs automatically, while showing task checks, service shutdown, app data backup, and installation startup.

Backup progress shows completed files and data size, with better status refreshes during slow responses. Unfinished tasks or update failures still show a reason and a retry option. Existing task protection and signature verification remain in place.

Upgrading from 0.1.5 or 0.1.6 to 0.1.7 still uses the older updater, so you may need to close its update dialog once. The new flow applies to subsequent updates after 0.1.7 is installed. Version 0.1.4 still requires a manual installation.

· Windows 0.1.6

Conversation deletion returns, with history grouped by folder

The delete button is back in conversation history. Deleted conversations move to the recycle bin, where you can restore them, permanently delete one, or empty the bin. Entries expire after three calendar months. Those that expire while the app is closed are removed at the next startup.

History is grouped by working folder, with collapsible groups and folder search. Related workflows and execution records are archived and removed together. Shared attachments still in use and original project files are kept.

If you use 0.1.5, check for updates in About Rivloom to upgrade to 0.1.6. Users of 0.1.4 still need to install the new version manually.

· Windows 0.1.5

Automatic planning and in-app updates

Conversations support automatic planning, task graphs, handoff between devices, and parallel execution. Local tasks have no fixed concurrency limit. Incoming tasks from other devices default to three concurrent tasks, configurable from one to ten.

Adds update prompts, per-version skipping, download progress, and cancellation. Before installation, Rivloom verifies the update signature, waits for unfinished work to be resolved, then stops its background service and backs up application data.

First upgrade: download and install 0.1.5 manually from 0.1.4. Later versions can be offered through in-app updates.

· Windows 0.1.4

One name: Rivloom

The application and installer now use the Rivloom name consistently. The current installer is unsigned, and new versions must be downloaded and installed manually. Check the available version, build, and publication status on the download page.

· Conversations and device collaboration

Conversations and devices, connected

Start work in a conversation and follow execution on your chosen device.

  • A conversation workspace brings history, task progress, and results awaiting review together.
  • Add local notes for paired devices and select an execution device with @.
  • See delivery receipts, queue position, and waiting reasons. A busy device keeps the task in its own queue.
  • Reorder the local queue, hold, resume, or reject tasks, or pause the queue.
  • Improved send retries and task retention after restart, and fixed candidate selection for automatic assignment.
  • Updated the bundled usage and security guides, and corrected the folder selection hint for ordinary folders.

Rivloom is still evolving.Currently available for Windows x64, without a Windows publisher signature. Network discovery and installation and upgrade behavior are still being refined. Try Rivloom in a trusted environment.
